Hello!
It's been a little while since I last posted, I feel like the changes that are going on in my life are significant, and I've been finding it hard to express exactly how I'm feeling. This experience is extremely unique and I truly feel sorry for every time I've ever judged anyone going through a divorce. It. Is. Awful.
Anyway, I don't want to be a downer, in reality, so I'm not going to start doing it here. I've been trying to focus on bettering my life, trying to do good things for myself and get out of 'self medication' mode. (which basically consists of eating crap, drinking too much, and staying out too late. You know, the uszh...) I feel like I'm finally ready physically to get back into yoga which I'm jazzed about. It was my main source of strength training pre-farm, (not a big fan of weight training) and I've been kinda freaked out to try it since I hurt myself last year. I'm looking forward to being strong again, in so many ways.
I'm really hoping to get into an apartment by june 1st which is also huge. Having a kitchen again will make the whole healthy eating situation tremendously.
I'm officially giving myself a break from my original new years resolutions, and I'm ok with it ;)
The hibernation continues....
I Love my Balenciaga but mostly live in American Apparel. I'm the kind of person who wishes someone was there to watch me wipe out down the stairs because it's 'such a waste' otherwise. I like my coffee black, And yes, that was me going to Gymboree in a YSL safari shirt and leather pants...

Vegas vacation
I spent this last week visiting my sister in Las Vegas with my dad and a few of his friends from work. I had a really great time! I've been going through some personal hardships and it was really good to be around a few of the people who know, love and support me most.
Here's a few pics:
All in all it was a great trip. When I lived there I was 19, and although I've been back a few times to visit since then, I was really able to go to a few haunts I'd always wanted to visit but never had the opportunity to as a 'youth'.
I'm already planning my next trip, so everyone start saving now so you an come with me! I promise it won't be disappointing ;)

New Year
I'm not usually one for New Year's resolutions, mostly because I don't want to lie to myself, and my birthday is right after new years, so I have to start late anyway. However, this year I'd like to try something. With all of the changes that have happened over the last few years, I've been making an effort to meld what I've learned with who I am. So I've been getting back to basics and trying to be more conscious in my decision making. This started a few months back and I feel that, at least on a personal level, forward progress is being made.
Since Jared and I have wrapped up farming full time (which has been slowly folding up over the last two years) I haven't been as active, but have been super lethargic about starting an work out schedule. I was inspired by a blog I read earlier and have decided to really go for it, at least for a few weeks, and see if I can make some of the changes stick. So, without further ado, here are my new years resolutions:
work out weekly
no more junk food (3 home made meals and 1 snack or high quality restaurant food only)
pack a lunch/snack daily
eat breakfast
drink more green tea
no more regular alcohol (1-2 glasses of wine with dinner, no hard A)
jog with abbey and do yard work at least once a week
monthly massages and pedicures
I have a more detailed plan laid out for the next few weeks just to get the ball rolling, and plan on working out 6 days a week, and not eating out or drinking at all during that time. I'm planning for two weeks, and then after that, I'll try my best to stick with it. Now, obviously I'm not going to be militant with myself, because, well, I never am. I will allow myself to 'take a break' every now and then for some narwahl balls (unicorn bar, what?!) or a jameson with ginger back. ;)

Cleanse
Jared and I had an awesome night out before he left for Europe. We had dinner at an awesome farm to table restaurant called Sitka and Spruce in Seattle, and went bowling at the Garage after.
I drank a bit too much that night, so after he left, I decided to try a cleanse. I heard about it originally on Lauren Conrad's website (scoff if you like, but the girl has some gems on her site, and is incredibly real for a 'reality' star, you should check it out here). I did the Kaeng Raeng 3 day cleanse and I was pleasantly surprised. I was definitely never hungry, and only seemed to crave cheese (since its a vegan/raw cleanse, you're only allowed the shakes they provide, pure teas, juices, and raw fruits and veggies.) The shake is soy based, which I have a little bit of intolerance to, so I made sure to drink plenty of green tea and other anti-inflammatory fruits and veggies like blueberries and pomegranate. I ended it a couple of days ago and have noticed a difference in my appetite level, and I'm much more sensitive to gluten than I was before. I'm interested to see if it will have any sort of lasting effect.
